Looking For A Hunt Fig

I am currently looking for a Hunt fig.
I did not have much luck with it before.
Lost an almost mature specimen to cold and
recently had [an ebay bought] 0/4 twig-strike success rooting them
(a rare event of other fig varieties for me).

Prefer a rooted starter; but cuttings will do.
Email me privately (not PM) and name your price.

P.S. Sometimes I do confuse it with the Smith fig - I believe both came from the South.

I tasted a hunt last year and was not very impressed.   It was large and a little bland.  I think forum member nana7b has a tree.   Try emailing him and see if he has cuttings.

In less than 1 hour, I got a 'promise' from a very reliable source.

Thanks all (mission accomplished), this is a great fig forum...

You're right, George.

Smith is a 'found' heirloom fig from Louisiana associated with the Becnels/Belle Chasse. It's commonly referred to as the "ugly one."

Hunt was the creation of Benjamin Hunt who lived in Georgia early-1900s.

Hope to have a chance to sample them both in the near future. PS> I had to look them up a few months back because I kept getting them confused with Beall. :)

Speaking of southern figs, are you still growing Hollier, George? Thoughts?

In my climate, Hunt has proven to be very good despite the crazy rain last year. I got my Hunt trees from JR and Dalton Durio. I think at the time (March 2012) I got all of the Hunt fig trees they had. For those folks looking for one, I think Just Fruits has some.

Glad you got one coming George.

I just got 2 more offers; thanks but please no more!
I'll stick for the initial 'Hunt for Hunt' offer; no rush...

George this is Vic from Keansburg I have one from Dalton, it's been in the ground for two years,if you still want one,I will get you cuttings this spring.Let me know.
