Looking for Col De Dame Blanc

Hi everyone I am looking for Col De Dame Blanc cuttings or plant, I can either buy or trade , if anyone has this please let me know, Thanks Dave

To bad im in Ca Dave i have a very small plant i started in January from a small cutting. It would need at least another 2 week's to put on more growth.

I don't have any extras, but just wanted to verify this is an excellent fig, taste-wise. I think part of the reason cuttings and plants can be difficult to find is because it's such a slow-grower.

My cutting from last summer, still looks like a cutting. It is in a deli container and has two leaves, I see it occasionally grow a new root but it definitely isn't in a hurry to do much. Granted it isn't getting any supplemented light, so the daylight hours in winter put my plants in a somewhat dormant state but still a very slow going plant. I'm hoping this summer it grows at least as much as this years cuttings and maybe will give a fig in the summer of 2016!

It seems the FMV at UCD negatively affects CdD Blanc originating there (some members do report decent production, albeit late). Similar to Ischia Black problems. Nonetheless, I have seen a member fertilize the hell out of a Ischia Black and get it to grow. So why not try the same w CdD Blanc? Also, the Baud strain or Pons strains out of Europe may not suffer the same lack of growth. It might be worth seeking out those strains.

No trouble with Col de Dame growth here. It grows well, so far bears lightly, though.

Sorry I don't have any CdD cuttings to share with you. I hope this isn't hijacking your thread, but I am curious to know if "Col de Dame" without any ending would be assumed to be Blanc or some other CdD. I have a couple CdD cuttings in my bin right now, but I do not know if they are Blanc, Gris or what.

Cyberfarmer, can you ask the source of your cuttings? If not you will have to wait for fruit. There is no generic Col de Dame.

They were labelled "Col de Dame UCD". I guess I'd better ask. There were actually several very nice bonus cuttings that showed up along with some that I paid for. I guess I was so grateful to have received all the free bonus cuttings, I didn't want to bug him with questions. Better ask before I lose track.

I believe UCD distributes only one CdD, and that is Blanc.

Gina

UCD has white and black (noir). It is true that in their catalogue they do not give a color for the blanc and just refer to it as Col de Dame

Thanks everyone for the info if I thought about acquiring  this variety a couple of months ago ebay was loaded with them
