I am hoping to buy some cuttings this winter once they go dormant. I live near Beaumont, TX and I was hoping first to find people in my area so I can avoid shipping. Cultivars I'm looking for are Violette dB,, ronde dB, col de dame, and lsu purple. I'm interests in lsu gold but it might be too open for my climate. I'd be interested in hearing about other close eyed varieties. Please let me know if there is anything available in my area!

Hi, stephanja. I live a teeny ways N of Austin and am also on the look out for closed eye figs. I bought LSU Purple and Gold this year. They are only just leafy twigs still, so no cuttings available, but who knows what they will look like come summer. I will be happy to tell you how the Gold does here, and mayhaps we will be able to trade cuttings next fall. Good luck!
