Looking for Ronde De Bordeaux

Hi - I'm new to this forum.   Love it, totally dedicated to figs and the countless varieties.  I live in Eastern PA, and finally after four years my two fig trees (Brown Turkey and Celeste) produced well over a hundred figs each.  So now I’m interested in purchasing several different varieties.  And the one I’m hearing the most recommendations is the Ronde De Bordeaux.  Does anyone have one for sale?  Can’t seem to find any Nursery on the Web with this variety.

ljkbuyer,

You are looking for the "Cream of the Crop" ( my opinion ).
This is one of the best figs a collector can have.

Your best odds are;

1) If you know anyone in Europe that can order it for you and ship it to you but you are risking Customs getting their hands on it before you do.

2) Ebay. You will see it listed from time to time but expect it to top $150.

Good luck

Thanks Rafed.  Yes, I'm aware of the going price for this variety.  And I have been following Ebay, but most forum members post warnings against using Ebay.

Keep your eye in ebay

Yes,
There are some bad Ebayers out there, but there a few good ones too.
There are some well known members that do post their figs on Ebay.

Usually the product is up for auction for about a week. If you do not know the seller then you come here and post a thread and ask about him or her.

You will for sure get an answer right away.

There have been some that said they were members on both fig forums but we didn't know them. So ask here first if you don't know them.

ljkbuyer,i can help you with a cutting of Ronde de Bordeaux, email me. Marius

Thanks Folks - great feedback.

Hello neighbor,

Ronde de Bordeaux is among my favorite figs in our area. I have been growing mine in ground for a couple years, it still has some figs till now.

Hi Bass,

Yea, I hear plenty of high praise for RdB.  Now if I can only locate one for sale.

ljkbuyer,

Bass has one for sale on ebay right now.
Put what you think you can afford and try your luck.

Good luck

Yes, thank you

Well, they say that delivery is for Europe only?

Penandpike is from Bulgaria.

Yes I'm in Europe. If anyone is so desperate to have the Ronde (in USA) I have one idea. If you have a friend who lives in Europe you can buy the plant and post it to his/hers address. Then he/she cuts it back and send you the cuttings in an envelope or something. You pray a little that it passes the customs and you get your Ronde.

After I got mine I cut it back and now I have 5 more rooted cuttings already.
If you don't have a friend You can post it to me and I'll keep the roots and send you the cuttings.:-)

Thanks.  I just purchased some cuttings from F4F member ejp3 on eBay.

I also have a friend from England who just purchased RdB from Reads Nursery.  Hoping to get some cuttings.

I`m lookig to buy RdB cuttings for fear prise.
