Looking Forward to the 2015 Growing Season

We have many new to us French fig varities we grew last year that are mature enough to have figs this summer. We can not wait to try these and several local varieties that we have propagated too.

Vintage 'Jersey tomatoe seeds coming from Rutgers Univerisity: Ramapo, KC146, Morton and Rutgers ( this year from Burpee until the Rutgers program release them)

Moving so many trees to 20 gallon pots and planting many locals ie Franks Salerno unk. in ground too.

In the fall we will try wrapping the in ground figs. That will be an experience I'm sure

Finally we have planted in ground 3 pawpaws and an Saijo persimmon this fall. It will be an event when the buds open in the spring.

Sounds good.  I plan on putting in PawPaws along the stream back.  I grew a number of tomatoes when I was back in NJ.  I had a Japanese variety that I really liked.  Odorinko.  Did really well, tasted great and good yield.  Seed was hard to find thou.  I think it is a single source import.  There is one with a similar name but not the same thing.  I can't wait to have a garden again!  The only good thing about winter right now is I have time to get all the house projects done.

Hi,
That's some teasing . Don't forget about us when harvest time comes. Take pics before devouring the figs, and post them here .
Last Fall I started 3 new trees in ground - the 3 strains are known but not that planted here around.
I may get fruit this year, but most probably not, at least not the brebas. oh well time will tell .
Good luck with your trees and harvests.
You are in Zone7 just like me, I'm curious to hear what yours will do !
This year, I'm more looking forward to the pastiliere and an unknown that I've been growing for 3 years without even seing one figlet.
Still three months before bud break though :( ...
