looking forward to this weekend.

i haven't had any rest for about 3 weeks. every weekend, there was something going on. i'm looking so foward to this weekend. i have nothing going on other than 2 hrs at the Blue and Gold getting my beads for WoodBadge. of course, more importantly, boys in my den will get their rank and comm. service awards. that's it. nothing else.

bought a bale of peat moss yesterday. i think it will be enough to pot all my cuttings and some left over. still need to get some perlite and containers.

new sundrew plant coming in today.. that would be fun. maybe some beer tonight and sleep late tomorrow. thank god.

Must be nice.  This weekend is going to be the polar opposite for me: hell.

Spent a few days this week in the ER w/ Norovirus and a broken ankle.  Come Sunday I'll be making a 12 hour drive to Columbus Ohio while still recovering to find a new place for the family to live (because stuff hit the fan here in Jersey) then driving 12 hours back to Jersey, packing a truck and moving through the night with a cranky teething 1 year old (all on a broken ankle, mind you.)

In other words, I'm ultra jealous.

Pete, which Sundew you have coming in today? Pic please?

There you go Bullet sleep in and enjoy .  ; )

Drosera venusta. Just pot it up few min ago. No pix yet. Used 1:1 peat moss and sand. It's tiny and looks pretty bad. Will be nursing it for awhile.

Must be a new strain of Norovirus to cause a broken ankle. ;)

Pete, on your suggestion I ordered a sundew and butterwort from Cascade Carnivores and they arrived two days ago.  I potted them in the mix they suggested but had to substitute perlite for pumice which I could not find in my area.  My sundew also looks a little droopy but hopefully it will snap out of it.  I put a ziplock bag tent over it to increase humidity.

CPs are definitely cute and delicate. not like figs. too bad i can't eat these :)

Greg, why move to Ohio.  Every year they get the worst rain & snow of the region.  They're about equivalent to the south half of

Nebraska.

Pete, Enjoy!

This weekend is going to be nice. Relaxing nice pace of garden work.
Some of the things I will be doing;
*Tending to the Myrica rubra bare rooted trees.
*Fertilizing the plants waking up with some kelp powder water mix.
*Potting up herbs
*Planting out Tambuli gourd seedlings
*In the process of getting root fig cuttings conditioned for the outdoors. They are in 70% shade.

and it's 6:50 and i'm up. our puppies needed to potty outside and started calling me at 6:30.. oi.. i could use some beer right now.

The boys and I are volunteering at an animal rescue this afternoon. Time to slip in a little nap.
