My first Ld'A starting to get ripe

Congrats
Beautiful. I am excited about this one as well. I just started cuttings so I'm hoping to possibly get one fig next year
Looks like they have a ways to go. Try and not pick them until they drip fig honey. Also will be interesting to see how dark the skin gets.
I'm trying 😊 I almost picked the bigger one today, but I decided to wait one more day.
panfishman: I'll take a photo with the leaf when I pick it tomorrow.
Trying to pronounce that sucker was driving me nuts. It translates to Long of August. Scored some cuttings on eBay and can't wait to have my own.
I heard it is pronounced 'Long-doot'
Pronunciation "Long-doot" or "Long-doo" depending on local dialect. More often "doo" I believe. And it's "longue" not "lounge" though I realize that the misspelling might have been the result of automatic English spell-check.
It is longue d'août and it means "the long of august" referring to its long shape and ripening in august.
panfishman, here are a couple of pic of the leaves:
Wow, talk about leaf variations!
Very nice, congrats!! I have a young tree I acquired a couple weeks ago after tasting it, I believe its definitely a keeper!!!
