Boy, that's a pretty fig, Frank! Nice pictures-looks really professional, too. I think you said you have that one in the ground, right? If so, delicious and hardy-can't beat that.

Congratulations Frank. This one looks like a winner. How productive is it? I have one sitting on my porch in a tiny container that needs repotting. It is growing straight up and has one fig for the first time in its second leaf. It is still green.
How would you classify it late or very late and is yours protected in winter?

Hey SAS...It did pretty good but not real productive this year like last year for some reason, oh yea, it is late. The only protection is mulched with hay, but the Winter still got the top.

Hey pino....I really haven't noticed Stella dropping Figs, last year she was loaded not this year.

Thanks for the kind comments. : )

Frank, your Stella looks great.  My Vasilika Sika (Belleclare) is either the same or very closely related.  I have mine growing in-ground and it produced the first main crop fig of any of my in-ground figs this year:

Thank you for posting. I just got a small one this week and can't wait to see how it does over the next couple of years.

Enjoy the fruits of your labor Frank!  That is a perfectly ripe Stella!  Very nice job there!

Mine is in the ground and growing fine.  No figs this year on mine.  It did not water that much and I did not feed it much either.  But the ripe figs on my Hardy Chicago and Pananas Purple are out of this world amazing.  Next year, my Stella will be loaded.  This happens to mine every 2 years.

I'll echo, great looking fig and pictures Frank!
I finally picked one up last winter. For some reason it was the only tree that I wasn't too sure if it was going to live or not, it just barely put out the tiniest growth and then squatted all summer and has finally started growing in the last 2 weeks.
