Lowe's figs

Just piggybacking off the Whole Foods thread started last week. Lowe's in Hackettstown, NJ has Chicago Hardy fig trees for 10.98.....

The Lowes near my house had them for $5 a couple years ago. Now the question is do you gamble and wait? Or do you grab a couple while you can now?

Good luck

Rafed - where were you when I bought my house in the boom market in 2005? I wish you had told me to wait it out!!! :) Disclaimer: I bought a 10.98 fig tree.

Other disclaimer: I hit some command on my keyboard to make the above text bold. Alt B or something???

They have a good return policy- I believe it's up to a year. So if it turns out that it might not be what was labeled, save your receipt and bring it back.

Lowes near me in Reading, PA has 1 gallon Hardy Chicago for 10.98, just arrived. Looks like the right leaf but who can sure. They were all loaded with figs, doubt they'll ripen in time though.

I'll have to stop in to see if they go on clearance and snag them cheap...

Kelby,
I picked up two of those last year at about this time (or maybe even later into September).  The figs continued to ripen up (in NJ) into early November!  (Lucky for us the winter from hell didn't really hit until late December!)

PS --if you have a Whole Foods nearby, check it out.  I saw Hardy Chicago at a WF in PA for $17.  3-gallon pots and significantly bigger than the little $10 trees at Lowes.
