Lowe's reduced prices on fruit trees

  • jtp

FYI - If you want a deal, check in with your local Lowe's store. Mine just reduced all fruit trees to 75 percent off. They had pomegranates, citrus, apples, peaches and others. No figs at mine though.

I picked up a 3-gallon Frantoio olive tree for $6.24. It was all lanky and jacked up, so I lopped off the top to root two more and allow the main tree to recover. Not bad.

I picked up a reduced price fig tree from Lowes 3 years ago for $5.00. It was marked Brown Turkey and when I up potted it a tag labeled Brunswick was in it and it in fact turned out to be a Brunswick. Nothing much happened to it that first year, but I put it into one of Bill's figs pots and it went crazy. Beautiful tree with maybe a hundred figs on it. I should have netted it that 2nd year as the birds feasted on it. This is the third year and it is doing great. I will definitely net this baby very soon.
I have NEVER had better sucess with potted figs until I started using Bill's pots (also copied his and made my own for a little less money.

Hi All,
Is this discount by geographical location as none of the Lowe's locally in Ca. have discounted trees (yet)?

No idea, other than what I see in Wilmington, NC. Inquire at your local Lowe's or Home Depot.
