LSU FIG SALE TOMORROW

Going to the lsu fig sale tomorrow. Its in hammond louisiana. Hoping to get the jack lily. They had a picture up of about 200 potted figs.

Only 200?  I hope you get there early, and good luck on jack lily!

Good Luck Richard,
Please take some pictures for us to see

What's Jack Lily?

I am going to take pictures of everything there. They suppose to have super plants there that they bred. Not sure what that is though. Jack lilly is a fig that they created at the center. Like tiger st gabriel. Etc.

Sounds like a party. Have fun and good hunting Richard.

Lucky U Richard. The Jack Lily is an awesome tasting honey fig variant. Let us know what variants are available.
I might go next year. I have faith on LSU variants.

I didnt even know much about the jack lily. Only that i didnt have it. Thanks everyone for your kind words. Will post pic while i am there. Richie

Sounds like so much fun! Enjoy it and good luck finding your Jack Lily fig!

There was two sales one in hammond louisiana and one in baton Rouge. Well the one in baton Rouge had the figs. No figs In hammond. We were going to drive to baton Rouge but were tired so we will wait till april 11th. They are doing several plant sales we found out. We did there super plants which are veggies. Pecon trees. Some dwarf type pune trees that only get 3 to 4 feet high a d produce pine nuts that are used to make hummis. Louisiana native azalea. And few others

Bummer!  I hope you find your fig at the next big sale!

Suzi

Agreed!!! Maybe you can pick some awesome ones up.

THe BR sale wasn't that impressive.  Saw one booth with figs, none that aren't common around here, except a few tiger.  Reminded me more of a Craft Sale than a plant sale.  My boys enjoyed the chili cookoff though!
