Has anyone growing figs associated with LSU's breeding program noticed any  suspectibility or resistance to fig mosaic virus?

I bought several smaller trees from James Robin last December and they show no symptoms at all. They are LSU Scott's Black, LSU Gold, LSU Hollier and LSU Imp. Celeste. Also LSU Purple from a local source and no sign of FMV.

Not only LSU-P is FMV free; it is also touted as being  RKN resistant....

This is only antidotal of course, but our LSU Purple shows no signs of any disease at all, and is growing and fruiting very vigorously, even though we just planted it this Spring.  If the fruit has a good taste (we will see soon), and it holds up the Zone 7b weather (it's in ground and we don't cover anything) the LSU Purple looks like a real winner.

Lsu gold and Improved Celeste no signs I can see of FMV

Hi John, I hear the LSU Purple needs about three years do put out high quality figs. Mine bore a few last fall being late because I planted that spring,2009. They were just ok, but the weather was cooler by then. This year it bore a lot of figs(early)that ripened, but were not full sized and really soft textured. The later ones that are ripening now are full size, but they are a slow to ripen fig(in my experience), so I'm hopeful these are going to taste better. I also have read where they aren't particularly cold hardy so you might want to protect it for the first year or two Hope yours does well for you. Best Wishes!

no lsu fmv here.  all my lsu figs are doing well.  my lsu giant celeste is putting out some amazingly huge leaves, by far bigger than the other figs' leaves.  i was worried my alma was fmvish early this spring, but it snapped right out of it and it's zooming.  hollier is also another vigorous variety.

I checked LSU Purple and LSU Gold today. LSU Purple has a few minimally distorted and/or splotchy leaves, but is quite healthy and vigorous. LSU Gold had a couple splotchy leaves, but very minimal. Doing well.
