LSU GOLD 07/20/14

Here's some pictures of the LSU Gold I have...3 year old plant, bought from JF & E. In a 3 gallon pot. Taste was AMAZING. This was my first homegrown, fresh fig outside of Celeste and BT. OMG!!!! It was honey with a hint of melon. Not overpowering or weak. To all the newcomers like me, this one is worth a shot in your collection. I literally closed my eyes and thanked God figs existed. My fig palette isn't as sophisticated as many on here, but this fig is fantastic.

Sure looks tasty!  The last few on my tree is getting rained out as we speak.

Nice looking fig

Blake, you have given my hope. The first two figs on my little LSU Gold just split from rain. There still 10 or 12 on it and I am really hoping the taste as good as your. I had the same kind of reaction last year when I tasted my first Hardy Chicago.

Gene, we have bee n unseasonably dry until the last 3 days. We've had 3 inches of rain in that time and somehow mine didn't split. I waited until the absolute lat minute to pick it and it was well worth the wait.
