This year I found this was an amazing fig yet haven't seen any posts on these great looking fig in a while.
Every fig was great quality, large perfectly round and great tasting with a refreshing juicy honey taste.
Thanks for looking comments welcome!

Looks really good Pino. Are they your first ripe ones...and are they generally this Late?

These were the 1st LSU gold picked last weekend Sep 18 about normal here.

Its funny this year with the extended heat wave the in ground figs are a week early but many of my container figs seem to be late.  Probably due to my watering methods and since if the roots dry out or if the roots get too hot (>35C) the ripening process stops.

Beautiful fig, Pino!  Amazing photo too!

My LSU Gold was my best honey flavored tree this year, at least the one fig the critters let me taste. Stark Bros finally sent me the correct tree last fall so it is still a young tree. It was in afternoon shade and did much better in the heat wave than the figs in full sun.

Looks great! I'm glad to read the good review of the LSU Gold's taste. Some rate it as just a so-so fig. I am really hoping for better. I have one from a rooted cutting that I hope to get figs from next year. Thanks.

CliffH

nice size and great shape
indeed beautiful.

At 75g that makes for a good size fig. A very nice skin colour also.

Thanks to all the feedback!

Tony, yes at 75 grams it is tied with my Dalmatie as my biggest fig.  As large as they are I had no problem eating the LSU Gold.  Nice pleasant taste and not too sweet.  The Dalmatie was overpowering with its sweetness and I could only eat half.  My wife had no problem eating the other half and another whole one.  It depends how much you like sweets I guess.

Here is the single post of a plate of figs with Dalmatie on the left and some other big figs.
