Nice! Looking forward to the review.
The waiting is the hardest part! !!! First fig i had with big drop of honey
Beautiful pics Richie. Don't you have s few cuttings to root? That should keep you busy until it ripens ;)
Just a couple cutting. I think 87 but they are foot long ,lol
Did you get any white Marseilles? I didn't even look at the varieries list until I got home darn it. I don't recall seeing the tree either.
That looks very nice like it will start dripping honey soon...LOLDo you know if Golden Louisiana is another name for LSU gold?
Pino. I have about 6 to 8. Louisiana heirloom figs that i picked up from old trees but they either have numbers or just called louisiana heirloom. I have heard of that but dont know.
Nice photos. I noticed that you have bird netting over them. The birds don't seem to bother as much with mine. The greatest problem i've had are coons and possums. Maybe it's because they are all ganged up on the LSU Purples. Those things are bird magnets. Anyway,I hope that you will enjoy your LSU Golds as much as I am enjoying mine. This hot dry weather that we are finally getting has made them really sweet this year.
Birds love the purple lol. They seem to like dark figs the best
Same fig 5 hours later
Looks nice!
Almost buddy. Very nice.
Ok guys. Here it is. Me and tina both agree this is the best fig we ever had. It has been very hot and dry for over a week. Very thick soft sticky inside with a very peachy flavor. After taste of a reaspoon full of honey. Now i see why collecting figs is so rewarding.
Yeahhhh, that looks delicious Richie. Thanks again for sharing and well done for waiting for it to ripen properly. It takes a lot of restrain ! Now we need to hear from Tina, did you realy share with her or ........Lol.
Lol, yes he did share it with me chris, :) and it was really good. I thought lsu purple was my favorite, but this one may be taking the lead. Although more sampling would help me in this decision. Lol
That looks good, I'll take a pic of mines, if the birds didn't get to it by the time I get home, the shape is the same but mines isn't as green as yours, it's a little more yellow . But I can tell you that it is one of the best.
Here is a lsu purple and lsu gold from yesterday.
Your purple looks tasty. Is the honey drop thick on the purple? Both look perfect. Bet you they are awsome. If you didnt eat them show insides Is your purple watery. Mine has no honey but wife loves it. Gold has honey that is thick like pine sap. And is by far my favorite. Its like candy almost
Have the Gold. Started it last year. Having seen your pictures, I can't wait. Thank you.
This is the first season I see the honey on the Lsu purple, those didn't make past the back yard, that's why I snapped pics of them in my hand, lol.
