I made this picture so you can see the three kind of figs that produce here havy crop of large white, figs.
As you look at it we have:
Lindhurst white,left
LSU Gold Center
Atreano ,Right
They are all very good tasting figs, still under 4 yrs old each, and they will improve even better in the future.
The first pix is Atreano ,the tree.

Herman, beautiful pictures. How is the flavor and rain tolerance of the Lindhurst White? Would it be any good in Texas, Zn9? Thanks.

Herman, is your Atreano from Rolling Rivers ? Jon has both variants -- the one from Rolling River & the other is designated as "Original". Jon did mentioned the original has taste edge over RR

I got it from Someone who got it from Seed saver exchange, but I do not know who gave me cuttings and wich one it is.
I thought GM gave me cuttings but I asked him and he said no.
Who cares,I like this one and all three cultivars I mentioned do very well in the rain because they got tight eye,and do not split.

Thanks Herman, glad to hear it's rain tolerant.

Thanks for the great pictures Herman.  Those figs look fantastic.

It is very interesting to learn about the histories of figs and the varies strains of the same varieties.

But a the famous chef and gourmet Justin Wilson once said about wine: The best kind of wine is the kind you like.

Same with figs.  The best fig is the fig you like.

Best wishes to all.
