Mmmmm, I can't wait, I just got a young Hollier a couple days ago.

You will love it! I got mine from JR last year. Today it's 7' tall and the first green fig to ripen. In my area, I started picking ripe figs 2 wks ago. It's a definate keeper and you will know when they're ripe. Nice job!

Nice variety.

I also just received a young Hollier from Trees of Joy. It sure looks like a good fig to try.

thanks for posting pictures.

Can either of you describe the taste?  I think DJ said he wasn't good at that.   Marius?

Pasty with well balanced sweet taste, slightly figgy. Overall an excellent fig.
Reliable productive main crop. Talking to Adriano, he said it was a very good
fig for him & under rated. It is one of the few figs he had planted in-ground.

Looks great!

LSU Hollier,a great tasting fig !! Thanks for watching. What a figgy day, today !!!!!

Hi Mnedelcu, I heard that Hollier is one of the sweetest tasting fig. Do you think so? Thanks for the pictures!

To think I almost past on getting the hollier, from looking at these pics and descriptions I'm sure glad I got it.

So how does this compare to JH Adriatic, Battaglia Green, etc?

Hollier is a honey type fig, with what I hear are citrus highlights.  Not Adriatic-berry type.

I had the opportunity the taste one this year at JR's place ,one of the best tasting figs I have ever eat, with a very sweet honey taste, different from taste from others........highly recommended

Brian, thanks for that taste description. Mine is loaded
and I can't wait to try it.

I was able to taste this one at LSU fig field trials. It was the best tasting fig there in my opinion. I'm not experienced enough to talk about honey and figgy things. It was just awesome.

I got one from "Trees of Joy" wonderful large gallon tree.  I immediately up potted to 3 gallon and the thing has taken off and grown another 8-10 inches, is putting out fruit and side limbs, very hardy tree, very well packed and shipped.   I plan to remove the small fruit and try to keep it growing before it gets too cold and gets moved into the garage.  I hope to get several cuttings off it this winter or possibly next spring.
