LSU Improved Celeste cutting request

I have read somewhere that the LSU Improved Celeste is "nematode resistant" That might be the best Celeste for me.

So I am seeking LSU I improved Celeste cuttings this Fall.

Right now I don't have anything to trade (all my plants are too small this year) but next year they might be big enough to trade!

I only want the LSU inproved celeste (real thing OK)
I will be more than glad to pay shipping and "handling"

Thanks to a very nice Member, I have a LSU Improved Celeste on the way
Thanks Vinnie

If the LSU Improved Celeste is truly RKN resistant that would be a good reason for grafting other varieties to LSU IC rootstock. Let us know if it does prove resistant. I see a whole new set of experiments coming!

Hi Sue,

When we get our IC and when we plant it in-ground here, where the dreaded RKN is known to roam, we will see how it does here!

Stay cool out there

I have heard before that the LSU Purple is RKN resistant (but not immune).
But this is the FIRST time I am hearing of similar properties by the LSU.IC...........?!

Has anyone had experience with grafting a few varieties onto one trunk?  I know I've seen 4 different types of cherries grafted to one trunk (was very $$$, compared to the cost of one cherry tree).

here is a article about doing just that

What I'm planning on doing, is not planting anything I have in pots until the Fall of 010.

Then in about April of next year I am going to TRY to kill them little _)(&*%$ with Solar Heat by using clear plastic left on the planting spot until about a month before I plan on planting them in-ground, I will keep the soil damp under the clear plastic!for at least one month.
Again, Thanks

East Coast Figs website say the O'Rourke IC is nematode resistant

Here is the link.
