LSU O'Rourke 14th July 2014

Good Productivity and taste excellent. Plant is kept in section of Green House that has no roof
yet. Good possibility micro climate in GH helps. Every branch is loaded with figs.

Amazing, I hope we get to se the ripe figs soon :)

indeed, (all) of my figs were top killed this past winter, i even lost a few. but this guy looks productive enough thus far to try the illinois winters. cant wait to see some ripe figs and hear about em.

Good looking plant Paul and bumper crop......

Hope they all ripen for you!

I like this one, good looking crop.

Up-date -- Have been enjoying this fig for over 2 weeks. Delicious+ bountiful. Good replacement for
Celeste in my zone. No more aborted figs. Thanks to Dr.O'Rourke.

Paully have you posted any photos of your greenhouse and outdoor setup? BTW those figs are going to be eaten soon, looking good.

Paul,
Nice looking figs and looks delicious too. I am in New Jersey now.

Norhayati

Paul nice shot of a bunch of ripening figs. How old is your tree. Mine is bearing for the second year and although it's loaded with figs they are ripening one after the other rather that a bunch like you show. Mine are great tasting and waterproof.
"gene"

Either 4 or 5 yrs old. I had it growing in a garbage can on wheels. It had a die back in its 1st year. Its definitely
a keeper.

@ Norhayati - welcome again to North America. Your daughter is so lucky to have mum to keep company. Have a
good trip. There are a few top notch growers in New Jersey. Hope you have time to visit. If you are visiting this way,
I will make sure you return with a nice cooler of wild salmon. I hardly need to buy any fish -- millions migrate thru
the few rivers in my area.

Paully,
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
My O'Rourkes have been ripening over the past week, but my night time temps have been in the 40's and day temps have been in the 60's, so I haven't had a properly ripened one yet.

I will have to move the tree under cover (hoop house) to get a few edible figs this year. BTW the Champagne are also ripening now, they are both 3 year old potted trees.
