LSU PURPLE

LSU Purple on a rainy Friday in Georgia. Dealing with pisants everywhere on the bush today. Any ideas?

Lsu purple is a good fig and they say that they are not their best till about 4 or 5 years old.  My Lsu purple was just put in the ground last summer, it is the fastest growing tree I have and the figs are good. I can't imagine how good they will be in a few years. Nice pic Joe.

Yes, this is this tree's (bush) 3rd year and it is a healthy one with promise of a great future. It is in a pot, but it may go in the ground next Spring. We shall see.

These figs are first crop, so not the best quality, but also not the worst I have ever eaten. Subjectively, I have to give it a 5. Mediore+ Nice color skin when, you leave them on the branch as long as the rain and ants allow. Neighbors love stopping by and looking. Few know you cangrow figs in pots. Makes for worthwhile conversation!

Other trees growing well...excet for my White Triana from JM which seems to be suffering the fate of a severe FVW infection.

I wonder how the southern LSU varieties do in California's dry heat.  Guess I'll find out.  Have LSU Scott's Black and LSU Gold.  Scott's Black is an in ground baby from a buried cutting that has decided to take off and grow.  LSU Gold has been in-ground for a year and putting on good growth this year.  Looking forward to the figs.

Joe,

 It looks good.
