Lsu THIBODEAUX FRUITING

My lsu thibodeaux i got from bass last year was griwing very slow. Took it out of pot a d planted in ground with no figs at all. Well this is a pic after being in ground for approximately 5 weeks. The water is from heavy rain not my watering lol. Ne er had a thibodeaux fig before. First time seeing one too. Looks to have a open eye that is red. Could be a small eye .... i cant tell yet

You can send some of that wet stuff our way...what a difference ~450 miles straight east can make.

Your fig looks pretty good considering all that rain water.  How long does it stay like that?  That's a good trait to have I would think.


Nice pics. If you've never seen a ripe Thibodeaux fig,you are in for a treat. They are huge and beautiful. I had to cut my 2 year old tree back because of a borer problem last winter,but it has come back strong,and has produced a good crop,considering. It is still in the pot,and I will bareroot it this winter and plant it. I have a second tree that I grew from a cutting,but it is a slow grower so far.While the figs I mentioned were beautiful,they did have a rather opened eye,but luckily they didn't sour,as the weather was dry during that time. Can't say that they had much taste,but I wasn't expecting much from such a young tree in a pot.

All the water will be gone in the morning. Dont know how that happens. Good soil i guess. Have you ever ate a thibodeaux fig before ? Looks to have a red eye. Not sure what the final product will look like.
