LSU Tiger

I am so excited.  Here is the first LSU Tiger from the tree I got in Marshall, TX today.  (Thank you, Meghan)  It was sooo good.  Not too sweet, almost a jam texture to it, the skin was just a tiny bit tough, a little crunch but not much...with my limited experience with different fig varieties, it was probably the best fig I've had so far.  Keep in mind, I've only had about 4 different varieties....lol.  Another tree I got today, a Black Jack, has a large fig that will be ripe in a day or two.  I will post a picture and description of it then.

Wow, nice. I can hardly wait for mine to produce

Nice looking fig!

Thanks you guys.  I feel like a proud Mama....lol.  I can hardly wait for more of my trees to produce.

Looks good thanks for posting.

goss

I'm so glad that I was able to get that tree to you with a fig all ready to go on it!  Now you know what to look forward to next year!  It was great meeting you today Jules.  And Danny, Steve, and all the lovely folks that came out to the Fig Gig.

Is this the same as "Mega Celeste"?

Pawpawbill, no the Tiger is also known as the giant Celeste which is different from the Mega Celeste or so I've been told.
"gene"

Good question, Pawpawbill.  I am so new to the fig thing that I truly have no idea.  I"m still researching and learning.  Thanks to genecolin for his answer.  I will have to check into the 3 varieties and see what I can find out.
