Very nice, Brian. Thanks for posting the picture. Now I know what to look forward to.

Brian ,
I have been surprised how well it has done and what a great flavor LSU Tiger develops up here in NH.
It gets better every year , large and rich flavored. Had to bump mine up to a 25 gallon pot this season since it earned it.
I like the faint striping as well.

Its also a very prolific grower and very easy to grow.

Absolutely, those cuttings root more easily than most.
Everyone needs an LSU Tiger .

Brian, that is a very nice looking fig. I was able to taste one from my tree last year but it was one of my casualties during the winter. Maybe another try later.

Both LSU Tiger & O'Rourke did well here last season. It took the rains well in terms of taste and no splitting. Definite keepers.

Glad to hear all the good reviews. I'm hoping to try it myself this year.

THANKS TO KERRY!

i, too, think highly of this variety. Mine also got additional space as a reward for good production and taste last year.

I picked 3 Lsu tigers from my tree yesterday and I didn't expect much from them since we've had rain everyday for the last week or two. Boy was I wrong, they didn't split and they tasted great, especially for a young tree that has only been in ground since last summer. I got a couple of ripe ronde de Bordeaux figs a couple days ago and honestly the tigers were better. The rdb ' s split wide open and the ones that didn't split didn't have much of a concentrated flavor. I'm sure the rdb will get a lot better when it ripen in ideal conditions.  I'm glad your tree is doing good for you Brian. I will have to come visit again soon, lol.

Nice figs.
I wonder what they could do here.

Just got an LSU fig this week so I'm psyched.  Seems like it's an early ripener which is very encouraging for us fig fanatics in the cold cold north.

Looks great Brian, I can't wait to taste mine.

I came home from a weeks vacation and found 3 or 4 Tigers that have turned brown but need a day or two. I had such a bad time with them last year splitting and souring that I almost cut it down over winter but decided to give it a fair chance. Last season was too wet for any fig. I may have a report in a day or two. We had 3 1/2 inches of rain while I was gone but now the weather has settled some and there is only a slight chance of rain. hopefully it stays dry so as I can get a good sample.

Ryan, I glad to hear your tree is doing well and the figs were good.

I've got the Giant Celeste from James Robin, is this the same fig discussed here as Tiger? I know there seem to be confusion about many of the LSU figs...

Thanks Brian for the great picture of the Lsu Tiger fig..... People said that is an easy grow variety ..... I just got 2 cuttings from my great friend Gloria Ramaley.... I try to root it for almost 3 weeks now.... And still not showing any growing yet.... Maybe I need more patient....

Will grow any fig tree that can grow in my country

It was too late yesterday for me to take pictures but this morning I was up bright and early to take these. Although I thought it would be a day or two I did get to sample 2 of them this morning and found them very good, very sweet, very juicy, and a hint of Celeste taste. If they hold up like this the rest of the season then I will be very glad that I did not take it out this winter. The next 2 I will let get very ripe to see how they differ from the two I sampled today which were just ripe.

Gene, I'm glad your tree is doing good for you as well. I do agree with you about the taste kind of being on the celeste side and very sweet. I only see this one getting better. As big as they are I was really expecting them to split wide open with all the rain we've been having, I'm sure glad they didn't.
