lsu tiger

Does anyone have lsu tiger leafed out? I have all my cuttings growing i took from the ag center last year and want to get a idea what the leaves look like thanks. I have a few with extea large leaves and read that giant celeste and tiger are the same fig.

I've read somewhere that  Tiger was tested as Giant Celeste and later named Tiger prior to its release. Anyhow, on mine most of the first leaves are large single lobed and somewhat pointed, much different from any other fig tree I've ever seen. Following these are three lobed celeste like leaves. My tree is going into its third year, but I can't recall ever seeing five lobed leaves. Right now it is putting on figs and there are only one and three lobed leaves.

This is my LSU Tiger I got from Trees of Joy last year.

Thank you i think you helped me. I figured it was because the leaves were single lobed and very large i few three libes on top. The other cuttings from the field look way different more like the average young fig tree thanks again

Thanks penny for the pic i think i figured it out
The other lsu fig cuttings i will have to wait for fruit. None of the trees were marked. They have let the field go. Trees are growing good but real wild.

Figpig,

You're welcome.I noticed that with the tree in the photo there was at least one five lobed leaf,so I guess that happens as well, but the large  almost heart shaped leaves really stand out. It really is a beautiful tree, and the figs are outstanding. Unfortunately, they split badly if there is much rain around ripening time, sort of like LSU Gold. Even so,these  are two of my favorites.

I really love figs for there beauty and there fruit. Love the heart shaped leaves. I got cutting from all there trees ladt fall. Like a fig ninja. Could help myself. Lol. Post some pics of the fig i hope is the tiger tomorrow

Richard,
Do you think the map with codes or names of the trees would be possible to attain through LSU?
Thanks,
Frank

That would be a good idea. They dont have plates well they have plates but they are worn out. Map would be good though. Richie

Is Giant Celeste or Tiger the same as Mega Celeste? It also has very large single loved leaves. It's figs are very good.
