All these sales about "Fico LUV" sales in Malaysia is nothing but rumours and my previous post was a result of rumours I heard from ameature figgers. I saw Dr paolos letter confirming that no such sale was reported . I suggest to end this topic here and move on.

I wish to reply to posting #11 by kkk2210. Unfortunately, kkk2210, who is known as Vinny or Vineeth Nair of Bognor, Regis, United Kingdom had deleted his part of the comment accusing a senior member of the fig fraternity in Malaysia.

The following is Dr Paolo Bellini's statement:
Our stand is the following:
-we strongly believe that Dato’ Elias Syed is not involved in this overpriced sale of cuttings and
-we are deeply upset that cuttings are sold at such a  high price, by people who only make profit from the sale and are not involved in first person in the research and conservation work.
 Regarding the entire issue of the international market of plants and cuttings, we reserve ourselves all the time necessary to formulate our precise position. As soon as we will have this document we will make sure to make it public on social networks.

Kkk2210 has made a correction at the end of this thread. Better still he should apologise. But he should have thought that what he termed as rumours and the repurcussions thereof.

Look mate, I don't think I need to apologise to anyone as I haven't mentioned any name , so who should I be apologising please ?? And I belive I live in a democracy not under a dictator lol, only used my freedom of speech. We blame and accuse our prime minister on daily basis ....do I need to apologise for that??

Anyway I have been shown right information by some respected Malaysian friends, hence my last post . Now if some people take screenshots and used these comments as a weapon to damage someone's credibility then it's their choice. This is a forum to discuss and I hope this is the end of this topic.

Drmsafar exaclty what are you trying to prove by publishing kkk's name and hometown? That is very unkind and mean-spirited, how would you like to have your name and address on the front page, with unkind insinuations? This is a place for opinions, and comments, the true identity of a person is not only irrelevant, it is none of your damn business.

I like how the person in question's in-crowd are jumping in to clear his name from selling at ridiculous prices.
I can easily debunk all this name cleaning and it's just that people asked me to wait but i know exactly how he works to keep his own name clean, not to upset Paolo.

I never mentioned anyone's name yet I'm the one who needs to apologise. Anyway I removed my previous post as there has been some arrguments about this.

Cool it everyone. When I started the topic on luv, I meant....a rare fig can be really expensive and serious collectors are willing to pay big money just to have it. It is the case of willing seller and willing buyer. It is not meant to discredit anyone

The first donation is on its way to Pomona fig conservatory. I will not give out the name of donor , he can do that himself. I feel good about the money going to Paolo's Pomona gardens, he is the one that discovered it and probably saved it from extinction after all.

Just visited Paolo at Pomona on April 30th ,he sad the old man he originally got the LUV from as passed away. The Luv is definitely the rarest of is figs.

In any case, the Fico Lupo looks very attractive by the pictures... It's good to hear that the fig will not be lost to us due to its protected status with Dr. Paolo Bellini's hard work and possible increased distribution but sad if it's rarity leads to scamming and price gouging... Mario... you are very generous and considerate for having donations made to Pomona Fig Conservatory for such excellent work they do...

No offense taken, I wish I had some fruit to post pictures of, but my young plant didn't produce any yet. It did grow some wood and I will have some available for donations to Pomona at a more reasonable level, I will pay the shipping .

It looks like I may get to try the Luv after all, the weather is warming up this week and if it keeps up a little longer I may get a list one if I can beat the animals to it. My small greenhouse is stuffed with 8 pots with many good figs , I may have to evict one of them. Here are some pictures
