Madeira

My Maderia doing well this season .
Here is plant and figs on it.
As a note i let it grow no pruning this season.

Hey Martin beautiful plant. What are the chances your Madiera will ripe for you?Thank you.

Your welcome, chances are very good i will taste some later this season.

So I might be lucky with my Preto figs ripening because they are about the same size as yours.

That is a happy looking tree there Martin. Looks like a good amount of figs too. About how old is this tree?

Hi BLB,
it has a nice history to it in my opinion and once again i thank "Scott" for that plant.

Mine is  1 of those 4 plants that he propagted from Ucdavis .
and

Scott propagated not 1 but 4 from a single piece of scion !
That was something.

That sure was something as I have had zero success with the sticks.

Martin,

It should look like this one picked this morning (about 4-5 weeks ahead of normal).

My heart is racing!!

Holy molyyyy!

I don't even want to know how it tasted! At least mine is finally growing--maybe one of these years....

Hi Jon,
time will tell.  ; )

Here is one from my climate Jusalda posted last season by another member not far from me. Him and i talked about Madeira in my yard just last week when we were looking at the plant.

Here is seven months of effort from cutting to pot for Black Madeira.  I think I received cuttings in Febuary.

Hi Rafed
i keep the large one more close to the double locked gate on the rocks, much to heavy to move out of harms way like rain and wind but that does not bother them they do not blow over and drain well.
Butch is no more than 3-4 seconds away from gate.

Back to your question.

I keep the smaller containers on patio so i can move them out of harms way under eve of house during stormy weather.

The smaller plants being on patio are about 1-2 seconds away once i open the patio door for Butch unless it already open .
See sometimes i just lock the screen door on nice night and leave other door swung open and not worry about anything.

Butch has knocked it right off the track many times cause of a lousy wabitt but i wait till morning to put it back up.

Its a slight management problem i have with him in that regard.
