congratulations to the seller and the winner.

I gave it a try on that auction, but gave up at $100. It's a great looking little tree.

If a Black Madeira ever comes up on ebay.ca im buying nobody ships to Canada so looks like no Black Madeira for me any time soon.

Nelson,
i know what you mean as i wanted some plants from overseas but cant get em. Shipping a plant to Canada from the states takes too many days i think unless and im not sure unless shipped special way like overnight or something but wouldn't a plant get held at customs.

Ya Martin I know exactly what you mean when i got my 48-26 Atemoya from Pine Island Nursery in Florida took a week to arrive and the plant went into shock lost all its leaves and all the new ones that grew back were colorless but yet its been flowering for two months was going to attempt hand polination but thats another story.

Dan my office is facing south west and big windows so I get sunshine from 8AM to 6PM if its sunny outside its bright inside. I  would definately try to start the Black Madeira early to be able to have some flavourfull figs I know it wouldn't be an easy task but I would like to try one day.

Nelson, Dan,
mine is young , it put on a good amount of figs for its size and just today still puttiing them on but keep knocking them all of to try to get a taste of one thats been on there for some time now. What gets me is that i foorgot and did not take notes of when it actually arrived on plant, i searched the forum and i mentioned it around Aug 6th but i did not mention how long it was on at that point darn it as i wanted to get somewhat of a gauge on how long it took to ripen especially in this cool summer we are having here if it does ripen at all. What i might to try to do and perhaps you can Nelson when you get yours is grow it in a 5 gallon black container as final pot and keep small, ive never done this but will try to keep it small and hopeing the root system in the 5 g will get enough heat along with heat radiating off sun and south facing brick wall sitting on cement will give it enough heat to make the figs taste decent. Im sure i can ripen the figs my worry is can they taste decent enough to keep the plant, for me its not much work to do actually doing the above. Now if i had a greenhouse bada bing no problem for me but thats not in the cards.

Martin,

Don't worry about it, send it to me, I'll take care of it and tell you how good it was in the last of Oct.

Yes, I will!
