Madeira Last Season Fig Pulled Off

I wheeled all trees out today as temps will be in 50s but nights are staying in 30s again so they have to go back in.
Anyways i had this maderia fig on tree i never pulled off and did so this morning , and it was hard like a rock as i tried to cut open  cause i was curious what it look like inside. Had to be careful cause i have cut fingers pretty good  in past doing silly things.
I did pull off the several remaining VdB figs and they were mushy and did not take pictures.
Here are pictures of Madeira inside from last season for the curious to see no.
Kinda remind me of the male little swimmers with their tails if you know what im referring to in 2nd picture on napkin  ; )

Yes I know Martin what you mean. The rooted seeds in produce section of grocery stores usually used for Chinese stir fry!

Ok i was going to throw the seeds out.
Guess im pretty bored till my plants start looking like plants again and not bare sticks.
I took some of the madeira seed put some in a type of growing media that resembles insulation but white in color these were some of the reddish color seeds i selected i suppose a few turned that color perhaps from the fig just starting to get ripe before the cold did it in.
The others were basically what was pictured and put on a wet paper towel covered by another wrapped in foil and covered with plastic wrap.
I personally think im waisting my time but im curious to see what will happen if anything.

I hear ya Martin. In and out of the garage with no leaf starts yet. It's a crazy time of the year.At least we haven't had any snow this month.

2 of my trees are starting to leaf and brebas are getting bigger every day.It is beautiful time of year to see that happening.
Not sure about seeds.Temperatures was below freezing in your garage during winter that may damaged seeds.
Keep as posted if you have any success.

This evening I went to the garage & I found the figs that I left on the trees from last season have firm up -- solid hard. They were on the soft side
a month ago. It did not happen to one variant but to 3 variants where I had left the figs on. Size of these figs were slightly smaller than a golf ball.
Has anyone had this experience from their trees? I am not sure whether I should leave them on or get rid of them. All inputs welcome.

Any figs from the previous years season have never matured for me.  I could be wrong but I always snap them off asap.

Paully
Next time leave at least one good one and see what happens and let us know.

I am going to leave them on. It would be nice if I can have a  head start in sampling some nice figs by May. New experience but this
entails a lot of daily work bringing them in & out the garage for sunlight.

This happens to my figs every year, but they're outside. (z8, though)
