MAGIC AIR LAYERING ON MALAGA FIGS!!

Hi all,

Anybody as curious as I am about the way my Malaga Paneta (Spain) figs are just shooting roots by themselves?

Haven't done anything to produce/promote this and yet, there they are, the mother plant just doing the work for me, rooting those suckers, ready to be put into medium :-)

Feel free to comment or inquire.

Thanks!

Jay

High humidity?

Might be a trait of this PATICULAR tree not the variety but the tree itself might have a weird dna make up

Here that happens all the time. High humidity, cloudy skies, misty rainfall and many of my trees will send out roots. On time after a 40 days and nights of raining the roots actually reached the ground.

Wow! That looks interesting, Jay. I guess you can save on sphagnum moss for air layering. Is this happening to any of your other varieties?

Lucky!  Those roots laugh at sunlight!  ;)
