This has been my work horse and it is starting this year off the same. This is also one of my top five tasting figs. It is like a big fat juicy, jammy strawberry. This year it gets a 9.

Thanks for posting, Mike. Glad to hear it's a work horse. I got some cuttings not long ago and are a work in progress. Glad I see now what to expect.

Mike, Thanks for the great description and picture of your figs. I think after hearing how good it is, I'm going to have to add this one to my collection.

Art, I have a couple going on now. Give me another month to make sure they are winners (rooting wise). I can send one your way if all goes well. They are still on the "will they make it?" stage.

Good work Mike. Everyone should have a workhorse like Malta Black. Keep the posts coming.

Thanks, Mike. I think they will but I am being cautious. That's why I asked for a month. Once I see some hardening from the new growth then I think all's well.

Mine is 3+ years old and has it's first figs on it this year. So many of my figs have dropped from record cold and 4 straight days of rain in mid July that I am on pins & needles to see if any will ripen.

Great fig Mike, thanks for the foto. I have about 30 little green main crop figs on my 2nd year in ground, they still look about 45 days from ripening, I hope they make it.

Looks sooo good! Thanks for sharing & making my wish list grow even longer! My whole family loves everything strawberry, so I know they would LOVE them, not that any fig here goes uneaten =)

You knocked a very desirable one off my wish list.

Those look dee-licous. By any chance do you know the approximate number of days it took to ripen? My Malta Black was slow to put figs on this year (late June) so I'm hoping the ones on there ripen. Also hoping for dry sunny weather with some heat.

Nice, thanks for sharing. I have a young Malta that has some baby figs that I hope to taste this year. Can't wait.
How old is your tree? In ground or in container? Thanks.

Thanks Mike. That's good news. I should still be able to get some ripe figs off that tree before the arctic weather sets in.
