Hi everybody,

I am flying to Malta in the beginning of May.

I hope to find and bring back with me some nice Maltese fig.

But ….I need help…

….anybody knows  the name of some good local variety…in Maltese language?!?

What should I be looking for…?

Better hurry. Some estimates place the loss of fig trees at 75% due to a fig beetle. Don't bring any of the beetles home with you.

Thank you , alanmercieca,

I checked …we have both bugs in Bulgaria, and not from yesterday…actually they are all over Europe….

…yet, I never saw a single fig tree infested by bugs in a way to be cut down .

Probably in Malta those bugs don’t have enough crop and other trees to eat, so they eat figs.
