Olympus SP-500UZ. The 550 is probably the newer model. Have purchased 6 "refurb" Olympus cameras, and all were as good as new, couldn't tell they weren't new, never had an issue with any of them. You're dealing directly with Olympus, even though it is on Ebay.

The 510 has 10x optical zoom and runs on Duracell type batteries, if need be. The 550 is 18x optical zoom. I might trade up to one of those, at those prices. You will also need a memory card, but 1 Gig card is about $25-30 these days.

Jon,  I've heard Malta is a parent of Celeste and that Malta is Celeste.  What do you think?

I have almost 20 "Celestes", and they are being DNA tested at USDA / UC Davis, currently, as part of a research project, to see if they are, indeed, all the same, or similar. Malta is among them. I do not have and ETA on the results.
