Maltese Beauty and Tiny Tim (pictures of roots)

If she makes it. I may want to trade.. Well maybe. She is hard to acquire. Tough to root. I still don't know, if I should keep her. Trust me I want to but I'm concerned about my climate. Anyway enjoy the photos

-The last two are "tiny Tim"
- The container is my Propagation Set-up.
( I *rarely* disturb the cuttings. When I check, I use chopsticks to "lift" the moss carefully and with extreme care.)

I'll swing by around Christmas (on my way to or from points north of you) and pick it up. ;)

What are you talking about?!?!  You're doing great.  Keep her as a houseplant under strong fluorescent lights and put her outside when it's warm enough.  Every year let her go dormant, keep her in the garage for the cold months then bring her inside in Feb or so to let her break dormancy and she should fruit in August.  You have no idea how lucky you are to have a MB so early in your career.  When she's bigger trade your cuttings - you really can have your cake and eat it too in the world of figs.

Good job!
How is Tiny Tim doing?

Jennifer, I will fly out to Idaho and take it off your hands. LOL

Jennifer, great job !! I agree with BobC. You'll do fine with it as a houseplant as Bob said.

Jennifer, what is your propagating setup?

Jennifer, mine is exactly the same.  Be patient!  You are doing nothing wrong, and don't you dare give that one away!

You want that fig Jenifer!

Gorgi :-)

Tiny Tim is so so so fragile. He is alive and well. The last two pictures are photos of him. Teeny-tiny hair-like roots and a bud is starting to form. Thank you GM.. Maltese beauty and Tiny Tim are alive and well.

Also, with the roots circling that cup it's time to up pot.  I'll water with plain water first but then they get a small scoop of miracle (1/4 - 1/2 tsp) in a gallon of water.  Often my smaller cuttings need that to have the strength to push out shoots.

Snaglpus.
Spagnum peat moss
Container (Dollar Store)

That's it. No heating mat. No light. No air (I just moistened the moss, tossed the cuttings in) closed the lid and forgot about it. Once a week I poke in to see how they are doing. That is the only time they get fresh air.

Thanks Bob, I will repot soon. The roots look a little translucent to me, an indication that I may be watering too much. At this point I will let it root bound a little more. One more month I suppose.

Here's what happened to mine after fertilizer in a 3 gal pot

Yes Jenny,
Tiny Tim is puny/small by default.

Adding more pressure on you, and you asking for unkowns,
sometimes one should be careful what to ask for...
As far as I know,  you are the only fig person that got it.
Pl. take good care of it.

GM,

You have always been good to me. I will be good to them. A great gift to see them root just in time for the holidays.
