Thanks, Dan, making me jealous.  Mine is pretty good size but I have yet to get a ripe fig off of it.  There have been some this year, but the x#@! birds always beat me to it.

Dan, I assume you took both photos on Oct. 31, correct?  If so, then a lot of figs ripened very late or didn't quite get ripe.  The one fig I left on my very young MB finally ripened about 10 days ago.  It was pretty good considering the conditions under which it ripened.  However, if this variety is that late then I am kind of in a borderline zone to make it worthwhile to grow (without a greenhouse).  I would guess you are even more zone-challenged for this variety.  I would be interested to hear your thoughts about this variety for zones 6 and 7.

I had some of the same thoughts as Steve about the figs left on your tree. I also wondered if you had given it an early start at all, and if you got to harvest a decent amount of figs despite all that were left?

Both pictures were from the same date, yes.

I start getting figs around 10-1 but only 1-2 per day. You can see a ton of them didn't make it which is a bummer considering how good they were.

I think if you are in zone 7 it can only get better though. I grow in pots though so if you plan on putting them in the ground, that would probably take the plant back several weeks so I'm not sure. It's a good enough variety to grow two of.
