This is the first one for me, in a 3 gal pot at the moment. I didn’t want to repot it because was afraid that the fig would be dropped, really wanted to taste it.It looks ugly and splits but the taste was very respectable. Nicely sweet, thin skin. I think next year it should be better.

Next year imagine one properly ripend with no splitting and hot sun. I have one with two green figs on it. Bass compaired it to two of his favorite figs mixed together. Looks good
I still have the hot sun, every damn day since the last April. 90F and dry today, for example.I hope the older tree would produce the figs that do not split, I do not like them that way, the bugs always reach the figs first.
To much water of course. But some fig require less water then the next fig. Well i heard over pollenated figs, can split too. You are in California right ?
Some figs require less water then the next fig. well i also read that over pollenated figs can split too. If i remember you are in California so maybe its that
Yes, in CA. Not all figs split from pollination. If this one does, too bad for it. The watering was not a problem, I was keeping it on a dry side.
Still a great fig and i have high hopes for you on this one. Heard nothing but good things on flavor. Good luck for next season.
