Beautiful pictures

Very nice,Francisco

Yesterday I had some of Marabout figs, really great testing. Very high sugar content.

Thank you John and Pako for your sympathetic comments
For those with the pollination capacity at hand, I would recommend this cultivar.
Very prolific, fig  more like good size brebas in the 80 to 100 gram caliber and delicious.

Very nice fig looking fig, Francisco. And big too.

Is this Sultane de Marabout from Algeria?

Do you think its a fig that can resist some rain?

Thanks for the pictures. I don't know if my Sultane de Marabout from Rolling Rivers Nursery is the same fig tree or not. It was the largest bare root tree this year, so I put it in a large pot in full sun. It's struggled to the point that I worried that it wouldn't make it. It's still alive but no new growth or figs so far. Hopefully it will perk up and do better next year.

Thank you for commenting.

This cultivar I got from Mr. P Baud in 2013, It's a pure smyrna fig and its origins are in the Eastern Maghreb (Tunisia) .

This small young tree has been ripening figs since mid August with a very regular shape and weight.
Being a heavy fruit, (dense) with a soft long stalk, soon it bends down by the time it shows its skin changing colors to a very attractive light pinkish purple. The eye then, turns,  pointing straight down and avoiding excessive ingression of moisture if any. - my figs saw their last drop of rain in early March 2015!
I heard talk about a Sultane de Marabout but never seen its colors!
