Recently I have seen the following types of figs mentioned in the treads and at first did not think much about the different names but now I am confused.

Marseilles Black VS
Marseilles Italian Golden Honey
White Marseilles
Marseilles
Marseilles (EL)
Marseilles BS1
Marseilles St. Anthony's EL

What does the VS stand for?     What does the EL stand for?    Are these different varieties?

VS  =  Our famous Vasile(Herman2)

EL  =  Edible Landscape Nursery

(the initials at the end are just listing the source)

Now you can be a cuckoo cockatoo. you have just stumbled on part of the "fun" that is figs. So many figs, so many names, so little time. ;-))
