I had to install net today as My tree was atacked by squierel.
It had a Jupiter grape as a target till now but grapes are gone and it moved on my fig last night.
This Variety is very staborn to brake off so a lot of peduncle with left skin i found + a ripe fig only half eaten.

I erradicated the squirrel population in my area. Haven't seen one in weeks. :-) Used Jon's method with the 4" PVC and the oatmeal potion made up by the local Ag. Now if I can figure out how to get rid of them rascally rabbits.

How did you erradicate the squirrels?   did ya spread the oatmeal around and then beat their little A$$ to death with the 4" PVC pipe?

I'll take some pics of the squirrel contraption when I get home tonight and post it.

Basically you need two 2-foot and one 1-foot piece of 4" PVC pipe, a 4" T and an end cap. Insert the 2-foot pieces opposite eachother into the T. Insert the 1-ft piece in the third end. Pour your squirrel bait into the 1-ft pipe and place an end cap on. Lay this out in the squirrel territory and wait a week...they all dissappear... :-)

I put 5lbs of bait into each of 3 pipe assemblies, one in the orchard and two up behind the house where they liked to play on the rocks.

Is there any chance you could post a photo or drawing of this contraption and its proper use?
