Celt, the variegated fig varieties are a naturally appearing sport on known varieties, also known Chimera. Martinenca is usually a black variety in Balearics islands, and I'm assuming a branch of the tree that was discovered to have variegation was taken and propagated at some point. The same with panache, and other variegated types. The Rigata Rosa was selected from an Italian variety and probably similar but I doubt it is the same.
