Martinenca Rimada sacrificing figs for growth

This fig tree was stuck in neutral up until July 17th with no new growth except for the two figs developing.  I decided to remove the figs to spur new growth.  A little over a month later the tree made good progress.  I wonder how much energy goes into producing a fig?

Thanks for the video. I think you are pronouncing it with an extra e after the second n. I've been pronouncing it "martinensa" but what do I know.
