Its good to see your fig tree starting up this spring Cecil, nothing here yet .

My Martin's Unknowns are itching to get outside but they have to be patient for a few more weeks yet. Both were rooted in October. "Big Marty" on the right is 2-1/2 feet tall and "Little Marty" on the left is 18 inches tall. Both are growing like weeds - just wait to they see the sun and warm weather!

check out this picture of small plant it was about 2ft at the time, the sibling of what you have, they kinda look different in leaf shape somewhat to me  but i guess thats how it works out,

 i cant wait to compare them when yours gets bigger, im curious how it does in a slightly different climate, there is also 1 in texas , Canada, Wv, Ms, Mo, Ga  i sent out. It ripens late for me as said before always leaves many figs on tree unripen, and has a large eye. I hope it does better for those in warmer climates and hope to see pictures of them one day when they mature.

Cecil, i forgot that you had kept yours outside inground over winter, i bet that grows nice in your climate compared to mine. Oh keep eys open for you know what and finger ready , i know you know what i mean!

Yes there is a big difference in the leaf shapes, even on comparing the small plants. Wonder if it is cultural differences - I'm using an augmented version of Al's mix and have been letting it get pretty dry between watering. I have also been giving it some diluted miracle grow every 2-3 weeks. I have a very sunny deck that it will spend the summer on, so we'll have to compare again later.

Steve, i have often wondered if the same fig tree is planted elsehwere would it look the same along with the fruit in and out.
Jon a while back said something to the effect of not noticeing a plant in a different city yet in the same state of the same type of fig plant. 
Since this plant i sent all over country it will be fun to see what they look like as adults along with the fruit and how it taste if there is a difference if the owners choose to post pictures one day.

I don't know how soon I might get fruit on these guys (maybe I'll be lucky and get something next year). I think there will be some differences driven by environmental conditions and culture. It certainly will be interesting to compare.

So Steve, do the LittleTykes toys help Little Marty to grow and develop faster?  And is that why Big Marty is so big?
Seriously, those are some nice looking plants!  Thanks again for your experiments, too, and sharing the info.on rooting.

When no one is watching, the Marty brothers play with the toys. It's occupational therapy for them and has certainly sped their development. I hope to soon enroll them in Advanced Placement courses and I am collecting for the college fund  :o)

Kidding aside, thanks I am proud of how well they are growing and owe Martin thanks for his cuttings.
