Martin's Unknown Cuttings

Anyone want to take a few Martin's Unkown cuttings off my hands? I bought a bundle of 10 from a forum member a few months ago. I put them into baggies with sphagnum moss about a week ago, and they're starting to show some leaf and root development now. I'd rather find homes for the extras now.

Are these unknown Martin's, as in Martin from IL?

I sent you a PM Matt.
Thanks.

Saxonfig--yes. His tree's the grandparent. I got mine from SteveNJ.

I've got two responses now, so the cuttings are taken unless saxonfig decides not to take 'em.

Matt, I glad to hear your having success with the Martins UK. I have a few started and they are looking great. In fact I just took a couple of pictures for my records. Here they are.

So far so good. Now if I can turn them into bearing trees that would be great.

Gene,
I have to say that's a master piece. A beautiful work of art.
I believe it will set off fruit in no time.

Plants are like people or pets, I little TLC and they reward you with their love and what you have is proof.

Rafed, I couldn't have done it without a lot of help from fellow members. With anything I accomplish the credit goes to you good fig friends.

Hey everybody, I've promised all the extra cuttings I have. I wish I had more to give out.
Gene--That's a beautiful little tree. I hope mine turn out that nice.

Great stuff Gene. I enjoy seeing photos of how others are doing with their cuttings. Please keep the pics coming.

I know I also like to share my progress photos too. It helps when you get feedback from others too. Helps me to know whether I'm doing somthin' wrong or not.

Gene, what kind of lighting are you using on your little ones when they're at that stage?

Bill, I bring them thru their first pair of leaves with only room lighting them I move them to a window sill where the get good old natural sunshine. I start by opening the shade a little to only give them indirect light, then after a few days I let them get a little direct sun. After about a week or so they have a half day of sun. As long as they show no signs of problems I keep increasing the time until after about 2 weeks the shade stays open all day. All the while they are still in their little greenhouse. Now I have them at a stage where I leave the greenhouse open for the better part of the day. It's been exactly 30 days since I moved them from baggie to cup. They are about to be put out on their own to make room for the up and coming ones that have just reached the stage of needing natural light.

These are just about ready to move out of the green house

These are just about to make it to the window sill.

Thanks Gene, I may have a few more questions and some pics to post later. Got work to do right now though.

Gene what kind of soil mix you used. Very nice pic's & healthy plants.

Paully, nothing special here. These are in Miracle Gro Potting Mix and Perelite mixed about 60/40. As everyone has said about the MG is the knats. Also I find that there is to much large pieces of chopped wood or what ever. My next batch will be UPM which I'm suppose to get soon. I would think any light and airy mix would work. The real job comes in keeping the moisture high enough and not to high. Too high and you get rot, too low and they dry up. Its a challange indoors during the winter. Spring time would be much better with a greater percent of cuttings becoming trees.
