Mavra Vasilika Sika greek black

Lovely photos Andreas.

That purple color is unreal... nice pics

@ nelson20vt      @    psilva8   thank you ;-)

@ Enigma

i have tortured this plant in the last month that i put it in the ground...
i have watered it every 2nd day with about 8 gal of water every time.
i dont know how good they will taste, but the only thing i can say is that they have not split,
even though i have done every thing wrong.
that makes it a good tree in my opinion

Andreas,

Congratulations!
This is a very nice fig, well deserving its place on any collection.

Francisco

@ Enigma     if i started "baptising" fig trees you would never know a tree as greek black or greek white ever again... LOL ;-))

@ Francisco   easy for you to say... you have the same tree.  LOL
i would like for you to compare your vasilika mavra to black madeira
and tell me your thoughts.
i have done it, but i would like to get your opinion as well.

Very nice looking figs

i never did post a picture of this fig cut open because i had relatives visiting from Florida...
they went through the fig trees and left nothing but leaves
i had many forum friends asking for an update, so i will show one that i took off their hands.
its a given that the fig needed about 4-5 more days but the poor thing never got a chance to ripen.

Looks really nice Andreas, thanks for posting an update, we always want to see the insides, looks really rich with flavor.

Still looks great, Andreas.  Thanks for sharing.

Agreed. Thanks for adding that.

You seem to be in the Mecca for amazing figs.

It would be nice if your relatives from Florida would just so happen to accidentally find a few cuttings in their luggage :)

thanks every one

@ Mike     i asked my cousin to take some with him  but he didnt want to risk it.
i told him they would look great outside his dental office. he is close to your old place (st.pete florida)
that would have been a great place for you to go and get cuttings... lol ;-))

with some luck he might get some next year.

I think you should make a trip to FL - Epiphany is right around the corner :)
