Maybe a true banana fig tree

Went to visit my wifes uncle in pearlington Louisiana a month ago. I noticed a big dormant fig tree. He is a old Cajun man with that cajun french accent. Lol. Speaks french ... English is his second language. Anyway he told me he had a rare fig tree that is called banana fig and that its not a Alma fig
He says its a yellow fig. With red pulp . He started cutting me cutting with a very sharp pocket knife. I have 6 rooted cuttings in cups and more with roots in cloner. I have way to many fig trees and will be giving four away for shipping only if any of yall want any let me know. First for people get them. Going to be cheap for shipping because they are in 18 oz cups.
Wish i knew how to post pic. Leaves do not look like alma

Is this by chance the same "uncle Wayne's" fig tree that you reported on back in November? We were discussing a yellow fig with pink or reddish pulp back then.

Cliff H.

Do you have some available?

Rey

I assume I'm number 5 eh Richie? Ive got some nice looking cuttings rooting up now, you'll get one of the big ones you asked for this spring ;)

Please let us know. I'm interested too.

No more but have more in greenhouse. I gave them out by order of contact with me. I have two left besides the people that i already contacted. Let me go read this post. Most of everyone on this post has trees coming. Hold on

Richie is the man. Can I get an Amen?

This is very generous of you, I wish I had more room

I'm not looking for light figs anymore, but generous of you.
That's what figs are about.

Doug

Have any pics of the figs or tree?

Amen

Thanks, Craig! I appreciate that. I will look out for you if it turns out to be a good variety.

Nice offer, Richie.... generous as always! Fig people are the nicest people in the world... if we could only get everybody to grow figs, that would, by extension,  make the world a nicer place to live....

Haha that's a stretch, but yes the fig community has some great faces in it.

Amen!!! Awesome offer.

The tree is dormant. But going over again to see if he will share cuttings with yall. He has two big ones. And when they are ripe i will do a pic show and flavor. They should be at their best because of the age of the tree. Its one of those trees that show its age.

I will have cuttings soon enough doug. Just in case you change your mind. I find light figs perform better and more bird and squirrel tolerant

Very nice offer. Please put me on your cuttings list. I'm rooting everything I have so I'll have baby plants or postage. Thanks.
Or $ ;-)
