Thats perfectly ripe fig right there

Looks delicious!
Curious why you are growing MBVS in California I thought MVS is a cold hardy early ripening fig great for colder areas but on the small side?

Looks great, can't wait to try mine.

And some are not that great. :(

It likes CA a lot, actually. Very productive and not allergic to the sun

I have an MVBS here in So CA.  It's one who lost it's tag, and it's one of two unknowns that JD planted in no man's land on this property.  I can't get to it, even with my hiking staff.  Doesn't look like it has any figs this year, and it did not last year, but it's healthy and getting to be a nice size.

Mine is in partial morning shade.  Big pines near it.  Full noon and afternoon sun.  Maybe it has to grow a little bigger for figs.  Time will tell.  It's about 4 years old and in ground.  Got it from a figs 4 fun member on Ebay as a rooted cutting years ago.

Congratulation ,Greenfig ,
I have no doubt in your climate the fruits,of Marseilles Black VS, are just, heavenly good tasting,if left on vine to ripe properly, and in your climate is not a problem letting them shrink a little.

Yes, thank you, that is my plan now, I have a few more hanging on the tree.
I am sure the taste will be up there.

I have one in a half wine barrel. Two year old tree, hope will get fruit next year. Can't wait to taste it.
