I had to pick my lone melanzana breba today because it was starting to split at the eye and we are expecting rain for a couple days. It definitely could have used a day or two more but it was still sweet, juicy, and HUGE. Bigger than a golf ball.

7deuceStill looks good. Next time try using small Ziploc bag to protect it in rain until ripe.I am not saying it from experience but expecting it should help in protecting until ripe (if there is a manageable number of brebas).
Will that really work? I wasn't worried about souring, I was worried about it splitting from the roots drinking too much water. I will try that next time anyways, can't hurt. Even if it doesn't work, it might keep the bugs off it when it splits.
