Hello, My name is Jeremy.I've been since feb. I only have been posting for a month now. I grow figs in very large containers.I only grow more rare types such as galicia negra, martinenca rimada, markopoulou, peloponnisiaka aspra, gevonese nero ,maroc noir, sweet joy/syrian, and soon bordissot negra rimada and paratja rimada . I live in zone 6B in philadelphia so this is the best way to keep some of the warmer climate types for myself. I put them in cold storage for the winter. Previous before I had fig trees I had olive trees.I had them for years but, We had mild winter follewed by a blizzard type winter. Well, i kept them out thinking they may have adapt to out winters but, sadly I was mistaken.I was in the philadelphia inquirer under " mediterranean in mayfair".I also was a student of chase rosade bonsai studio, so I do know some things about cultavating and shaping trees into artwork as wellas proper pruning techniques. Well, I just wanted to introduce myself. Thank you for reading,Jeremy

Welcome Jeremy. You have a nice collection.

Glad to have you, Jeremy.  These past few winters have been hard on us.

Greetings from California, Jeremy. Thanks for the nice introduction, and don't hesitate to post photos of those nice figs when the time comes.

Thank you everyone. As far as photos goes , I will post some when their ready, thanks

Welcome!  How did you like Galicia Negra and Maroc Noir?

This is the first year I had them ,so hopefully I'll able to taste them soon.I May bring one rooted cutting of the maroc noir to bass's place on the 13th.maybe looking to trade for calderona, planeca or melissi.

Welcome Exoticplants !
If your looking for fruits, you should take a real BrownTurkey. I'm in Zone7 and some years we don't get any fruits at all from the fig trees.
But with some cares, fertilizer and water, one can be successful most of the years.
For now, 2015 looks promising, here.
