Met a new fig tree yesterday. (possible cuttings available)

Late last summer, I sent letters to 7 different houses where I saw fig trees in the yard.  Only 2 responded a week or so later.  Yesterday, I got a phone call from another one that lives just around the corner from me, so I walked over to visit.

It's an elderly couple that doesn't use the internet at all.  He said he had no idea what kind it is, but that he bought the tree 15 years ago at Calloway's Nursery.  The fig, he said, was small (thumb sized) and brownish and very sweet.  My guess is Celesete.  Is anyone familiar with the kinds of figs Calloway's might have sold in Texas back then?

Anyway, he said he would be doing heavy pruning this year to get limbs off the roof for repair work.  I asked him to set aside all the prunings so that I could distribute to anyone who wants them.  I don't know how much I'll have yet, or even if he'll call me back.  Hopefully, he will.

I gave him 4 unknown (possibly lsu gold/kadota) cuttings from another local tree and explained how to get them rooted.

Anyway, if your interested in cuttings from this tree ($5 postage cost), PM me with "Unknown Kings Country" in the subject, so they're easier to keep track of.  I'll put you on a list in the order I get PMs and when I found out how many I have I'll let everyone know.

pictures please

The tree was dormant, so I didn't think to take any while I was there and it's in his back yard.it's probably about 6 to 8 feet wide and 12 to 14 feet tall.  If he calls me after trimming, I'll take a picture when I go back.
