Well for the first time this year I am picking main crop figs from multiple varieties at the same time. So there is Petite Negra, VDB, 187-25 and LSU Gold.

That 187-25 looks pretty darn tasty for a green fig.

Nice.........

Thanks guys. The 187-25 was very good, even if it was the first fig from that tree.

I'm interested in the taste comparison between VdB and PN.

Thanks

Very similar taste to me between PN and VDB but VDB is a little larger and perhaps just a tad more intense.

My problem is that the leaves on my VdB and PN are very similar. I have not tasted any yet. Maybe mid-Sept.

The leaves are similar the fruit is similar but they are definitely different. Earlier this year I posted a pic of the Petite negra brebas and the neck on those is very long. In contrast, VDB breba just looks basically like a larger VDB main crop, much shorter neck. VDB main crop is consistently larger than PN too. Hopefully you will be able to judge for yourself in a few short weeks. My guess is if dna testing was performed they would be closely related. Both are very good trees.

Yep remember those- they looked different fruit wise. I saw somebody else post a pic of their PN and looked Absolutely nothing like VDB, Negronne or my PN leaves- I believe it was from EL.
