Minor elements

I had mixed some minor elements (liquid form) and decided to spray the leftover on 5 small potted fig trees. When I saw these trees after a week, the leaves where dark green and they had no rust at all.
I was so happy with the results that after a month (two weeks ago) I resprayed.

My question: has anyone tried foliar application of minor elements?
In the affirmative, what were your results?

I have noticed my in ground figs have much less rust than my potted figs. Minor elements?

Bill

Iron generally makes darker leaves, it works well for grass as well.  Manganese Deficiency can also cause some yellowing, so minors, used as recommended should help always but can harm in excess.  Silicate can help in Cucumbers for defense against mildew, for figs I am not sure though, complete nutrition will help out in defense against disease always as well.
